Dart Increases Truck Driver Pay

Dart Transit Company started the new year with pay increases for its over-the-road company truck drivers. Dart raised its starting pay for long-haul company drivers along its main freight lanes by 5 cents per mile. Experienced, top performing drivers could now earn over $60,000 in their first year with the company. In addition to the base pay hikes, Dart also rolled out anniversary pay increases for each year the driver is with Dart; a new bonus called “Sign-on Plus” that is paid in increments from sign-on through the first year-and-a-half with Dart; and a 3.5 cent per mile monthly performance bonus.

The Wall That Heals is a half-scale model of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. Women In Trucking Foundation Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

Plover, WI (January 5, 2017) - The Women In Trucking (WIT) Foundation was formed in 2011 to provide financial assistance to help women advance their careers in transportation in the areas of safety, truck driving, leadership, or as a technician. Since 2013, the organization has awarded 40 scholarships. “It is through corporate giving, such as the Ryder Foundation which donated $25,000 and J.J. Keller Foundation which gave $10,000, along with the many individuals who have contributed to the WIT Foundation since its inception that allows the organization to provide scholarships annually to those in need,” said Debora Babin Katz, Vice President, TrucBrush Corporation and WIT Foundation Chair.

Dart Network Podcast: Owner-Operator Pat Wortham Talks About His Wreaths Across America Run

Over the weekend of December 17th, the volunteers with the Wreaths Across America program placed more than 1.2 million wreaths at the gravesites of those who dedicated their lives to military service. Participating as a carrier in the program for the seventh consecutive year, the Dart Network was quite visible in a campaign that involved a host of carriers working with the Truckload Carriers Association to move more than 400 truckloads this year. Joshua Channel, Mark Bouchard and Pat Wortham – the three owner-operators who were presented with the keys to new military-themed leased trucks during a ceremony on Veterans Day at Dart – participated in the Wreaths Across America program. Not only did Joshua, Mark and Pat have a mural of the Marine Iwo Jima Memorial on their trucks, but they also were pulling military-themed trailers with the message “Freedom is Fragile” displayed on the side.
