Dart Donates School Supplies to Local Community
30 Aug 2017
The school year is going to be starting off extra bright for students in need in Minnesota. Dart partnered with Connie Bauman, Collections Analyst at Dart, to provide school supplies to children in need within Dakota, Scott, and Carver counties – located just south of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area. Connie, along with her husband Dennis, love giving back to the community they called home for so many years in honor of their son Adam.
Connie says that the efforts honor their son after he was tragically lost in a car accident in 2001. Adam had a love for working with children through Eagle Scouts projects, one of which was donating schools supplies to children in need. “Adam started the school supply drive as a project to earn an Eagle Scout award and we decided to carry it on in his memory. It means a lot to us that Dart employees are assisting us in keeping Adam’s memory alive by supplying school supplies and donating money to purchase needed supplies. We also are grateful the Salvation Army assists us by providing the supplies to needy children in our area,” said Connie.
The donations were dropped off with the Salvation Army in Burnsville, Minnesota, who helps ensure the school supplies go to children in need.
Thank you to the Baumans for their dedication to the community that Dart is proud to call home. Thanks to their efforts, they were able to raise nearly $600 in cash and collect five large boxes of school supplies for Dakota, Scott, and Carver counties in Minnesota.
