Dart Sponsors Women In Trucking Event at 2017 Mid-America Trucking Show
04 May 2017
Dart was excited to sponsor the “Salute to Women Behind the Wheel” event put on by the Women In Trucking Organization held at the Mid-America Trucking Show this year in Louisville! This year marked the 8th annual event; the largest celebration of female professional truck drivers of its kind in the trucking industry.
Dart, along with other companies within the trucking industry, attended to fill drivers in on various career opportunities at Dart and explain a little bit more about what Dart is all about as a whole. The event had a wonderful turnout with over 100 professional women drivers attending the event.
Kristin Ries, Communications Manager at Dart Transit Company, expressed her sincere gratitude for the opportunities and empowerment of women within a male-dominated industry that the Women In Trucking Association provides. “The Salute to Women Behind the Wheel event was just one of the ways Dart shows support for women in the trucking industry, and we were so happy to be a part of it. It’s not every day so many women can get together in one place at one time to mutually support each other and their careers. The best part about the event was seeing the influence these women have on our industry, and the power they have to make change,” said Ries.
In addition to having Dart showcasing its opportunities and exciting partnership with Women In Trucking, there was also a concert, a professional speaker from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, prize giveaways, and a reception.
