Dart Transit Company Capacity 2018-19 Loyalty Program & Retention Bonus

Overview and Parameters

In 2018-19 Dart Transit Company would like to show its appreciation for the valuable equipment and driver services Dart has received from the professional owner operators and company drivers working hard to deliver freight safely, securely, and on time.  At a time when many carriers seem to be focused on bringing new owner operators and drivers in, Dart wants to stop and say thank you to those that already chose Dart and stay active with Dart.  So we’re proud to announce we’ll be paying a one-time loyalty bonus to owner operators keeping their business with Dart in 2019, and we’ll be paying a one-time retention bonus to company drivers continuing their careers with Dart in 2019. Specifically, a payout is planned for the spring of 2019 to owner operators and drivers based on the years the owner operator or driver has worked with Dart.

Owner Operator Loyalty Program

Qualifications

  • Must have contracted with Dart, or been an employee driver with Dart for at least 3 years at the time of the payout.  Sign-on bonus programs cover years 0-3.
  • Years as an employee driver and owner operator count. 
  • Dart years don’t have to be continuous.  For example, Owner operator is here for 2 years, leaves for 2 years, and then returns for 4 years.   All 6 Dart years are counted.
  • Must be active 10 out of 12 months in the previous calendar year. 

Payments

  • Amounts are in the attached schedule
  • Payments will be made in March and April of 2019
  • Payments will appear on settlement statements.  Messages will be sent out when owner operators can expect payment

Additional Rules

  • Eligibility determinations will be made in March 2019, and measure all of 2018
  • Owner operator must be active at the time payment is made (approx. March or April 2019)
  • Exceptions to active status may be made if an owner operator was inactive due to something outside of his/her control, such as an injury
  • Year bands are based on the year the owner operator is in.  So if an owner operator has completed 4 years with Dart, and is in his 5th year with Dart at the time of payment, he will receive a 5th year payment.

Company Driver Retention Bonus

  • Must be active 10 out of 12 months in the previous calendar year.

  • Payments will appear on pay stubs.  Messages will be sent out when drivers can expect payment
