Each year, the Scott Richards North Star Charitable Foundation hosts “Bikes for Kids,” a holiday party for disadvantaged youth in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area.  During the event families enjoy a variety of entertainment, games, and refreshments.  At the end of the party the kids are surprised with a brand new bicycle.  

This year the Foundation purchased 350 bikes from Target, and Dart partnered with them to provide transportation for the bikes from the Target distribution center in Fridley, Minnesota to the Target store in Shoreview.  Dart then delivered the trailer full of bikes to the Mall of America Field (Metrodome) in Minneapolis.  Dart provided 6 shipments total free of charge for Target and the Foundation.  Special thanks to Dart contractor Robert Bean who delivered the bikes.  

In the past 8 years, the Foundation has given away more than 2,000 bicycles and helmets.  For more information, please visit the North Star Resource Group website.
